Rosewood Hong Kong Has Been Named the Best Hotel in the World (Again)
The Victoria Dockside property has claimed the top spot in the 50 Best Hotels for the second year running, with Hong Kong placing three properties in the top 50.

In news not entirely unexpected for luxury hotel connoisseurs, Rosewood Hong Kong has been crowned the Best Hotel in the World at the 50 Best Hotels 2026, announced at a ceremony in Paris on 15 September.

It's the second consecutive year the property has taken the number one spot, having also placed third in 2024, and it continues an impressive run of wins for a hotel that only opened in 2019.
The Tony Chi-designed property occupies a striking tower at Victoria Dockside on the Kowloon waterfront, with 413 rooms looking out across Victoria Harbour towards Hong Kong Island.
Eleven bars and restaurants cover everything from contemporary Cantonese to the Indian street food at Chaat, and Darkside, the hotel's cocktail bar, which has placed multiple times in the World’s 50 Best Bars.
Asaya, the hotel's wellness programme, spans an entire floor and goes far beyond the just a spa menu, with fitness, nutrition, mindfulness and sound healing on the programme to rejuvenate your mind, body and soul. It also holds three Michelin Keys, the only hotel in Hong Kong to do so.

But Rosewood wasn’t the only name of note on the night - multiple Hong Kong properties scored a coveted place on the list. The Upper House in Admiralty came in at number 8, and The Peninsula, the city's longest-serving luxury hotel, placed 46th.
In wider Southeast Asia, there was an equal show of strength: Bangkok hotels claimed two spots in the top three: Capella Bangkok at number two and Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River at number three. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok also placed 10th, with original grand dame Raffles in Singapore at number seventeen.
