Inside Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong's Newest Harbourfront Hotel
The largest Kimpton in the world has landed in Kowloon, and it might just have the best bathtub view in the city.
There are plenty of hotels in Hong Kong with harbour views, but very few where every single room faces the water. Kimpton Tsim Sha Tsui, which opened in late 2025 on the site of the old Mariner's Club on Middle Road, is one of them, and the V-shaped design of the building means the views are inescapable (spoiler: we love it).
All rooms come with freestanding tubs and floor-to-ceiling windows framing Victoria Harbour, but if you can, book one of the King Premium Plunge Bath rooms or a Kimpton Harbour Suite. In these rooms, floor-to-ceiling windows frame Victoria Harbour, and a marble-edged tub sits right beside them, angled so you can watch ships and ferries criss-cross the harbour while you soak. Rooms are finished in warm wood and rattan with Lemnos clocks and Tivoli speakers on the nightstand, Korean brand NONFICTION in the bathroom and custom coffee pods from local roaster Elephant Grounds. Something that won’t last long is the bars from Conspiracy Chocolate, another Hong Kong name, in the minibar. Despite being an international brand, local details like these have been deliberately included throughout the property.
There are 495 rooms and 25 suites across 30 floors, which makes this the largest Kimpton anywhere in the world, but if you think you’ll feel dwarfed, think again. The design brings a sense of calm in Hong Kong’s lovable chaos, and you can always break up your time in the restaurants.
Hillside is the all-day spot, artfully switching from a breakfast buffet with dim sum trolleys to a noodle bar through to à la carte in the evening. JIJA, the standout, is run by Vicky Lau, one of Hong Kong's most celebrated chefs, and focuses on the flavours of Yunnan, Guizhou and Guangxi. Up on the 50th floor, the delightfully playful Swim Club wraps a heated infinity pool in 270-degree views of the harbour and serves cocktails with a style that wouldn’t be out of place in Palm Springs. And if you can find it, High Dive is the eight-seat speakeasy behind the scenes, bedazzled in Baccarat crystal and rare spirits.
And nowadays, there’s simply no hotels without wellness. The gym is generously equipped, thanks to partnerships with Technogym and Rogue Fitness, and the hotel even runs a hiking programme with free gear and mapped routes for guests who want to get out of the city. There's also the Angsana Spa for something less strenuous, or a post-hike massage.
Tsim Sha Tsui is already one of Hong Kong's best-connected neighbourhoods, with the Avenue of Stars, Hong Kong Museum of Art and Kowloon Park all within a few minutes' walk, and the Star Ferry and MTR practically on the doorstep. The neighbourhood is on the up and up, and we have this earmarked as one of the most popular new stays of the year.
