A 125-room lifestyle hotel is heading to the heart of Central in 2027, and it's one to watch.

If you know the Andaz brand from Singapore, Tokyo or Bali, you'll want to make a note of their next ventur. Opening in the lively Central district, Andaz Hong Kong Central is expected to open in 2027 at 118 Wellington Street, tucked between Tai Kwun, PMQ and Central Market, with the restaurants and bars of Soho on the doorstep.

The hotel will have 125 rooms and suites, some of which are being designed to double as private event spaces. At its centre will be the Living Room, an all-day social space that will be open from morning coffee through to evening drinks, alongside a full restaurant and wellness offering. The new hotel will also house the first Andaz Village, a curated retail and lifestyle space built around food, design and wellbeing, which is a new concept for the brand and we peg to become a luxury retail location in itself.

Details on room design, dining concepts and rates are still under wraps, but the initial plans are exciting. The building is part of Central Crossing, a wider development that will also incorporate preserved heritage architecture and open green space, and it connects directly into Central's covered walkway system, with the MTR and Airport Express both within walking distance.

It’s far from the first Hyatt property to have opened in the Harbour City, but puts a new luxury property on the horizon for anyone seeking a new, five-star stay.
