Aman Is Coming to Singapore
The ultra-luxury brand will open its first Singapore property in 2028, inside what will be the city's tallest building
For a brand that started with a handful of pavilions on a quiet Phuket beach in 1988, Aman has come a long way. Tokyo, New York, Bangkok and now Singapore, where the group will open its first property inside The Skywaters, a 63-storey tower that will become Singapore's tallest building when completed in 2028. Itching to peek inside? Us too - here’s everything we know so far.
The hotel will occupy the 24th to 26th floors, with branded Aman Residences on the 28th and 30th floors above and a private members-only Aman Club also within the building. If you’re familiar with the clubs in Tokyo and New York, expect a similar idea: curated events, access to wellness, dining and social spaces reserved for members, residents and hotel guests, and a joining fee that’s better left unspecified.
Interiors are being artfully curated by Kerry Hill Architects, a long-time Aman collaborator behind properties including Amanemu, Aman Kyoto and Aman Tokyo. The design will take its cues from Singapore's Black and White colonial bungalows, with natural materials and layered textures throughout. We’ve got our eye on The Aman Spa, which will occupy an entire floor and include an infinity-edged pool said to be enveloped in lush greenery, which should offer some of the most spectacular views in the city.
The Skywaters itself is designed by the same people behind the Burj Khalifa and One World Trade Center, sitting at the intersection of the CBD, Marina Bay and the Greater Southern Waterfront, ensuring it feels a world away while still being in the heart of the city.
Aman devotees (and there are many) have been waiting for Singapore for a long time. With Raffles, Capella and Six Senses already in the city, the luxury hotel competition is strong, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this draws all eyes (and holiday bookings) to The Skywaters when it finally arrives.
