The Hari Is Heading to Singapore

The design-led luxury brand will open its third property on Orchard Road in spring 2027.

The Hari London sits on a quiet Belgravia street with 85 rooms, a Tara Bernerd-designed interior and a rotating collection of contemporary art in the hallways. The Hari Hong Kong does the same from Wan Chai, with 210 rooms and views over Victoria Harbour. Now, Singapore is getting its own.

The Hari Singapore will open in spring 2027 on Cavenagh Road, just off Orchard Road and steps from Emerald Hill, one of the city's most beautiful heritage enclaves, where rows of preserved Peranakan shophouses line the street. The 326-room property is being created from a full transformation of the existing Holiday Inn Singapore Orchard City Centre, a building that has been on the site since 1985.

British designer Tara Bernerd, who shaped the interiors at both The Hari London in Belgravia and The Hari Hong Kong in Wan Chai, is leading the design once again. And if her previous work is anything to go by, expect layered, contemporary interiors with local references throughout. The sneak peek of the pool alone is enough to suggest it will firmly make its mark amongst its luxury neighbours when it arrives.

Alongside the 326 rooms and rooftop swimming pool, the hotel will have an executive lounge, dining and wellness experiences, and the brand's signature rotating art programme, which changes regularly across the property.

The Hari is owned by the Harilela family, who founded their hospitality group in 1959 and still run it today. Their wider portfolio spans 15 properties across Asia, Europe and the US, with The Hari properties in London and Hong Kong opening in 2016 and 2020 respectively, with Singapore set to complete the trio - although we wouldn’t be surprised if more are on the horizon.
