Cathay Pacific Has Just Reopened The Bridge at Hong Kong Airport
The airline’s luxury lounge has been renovated to offer travellers a more refined airport experience.
Cathay Pacific’s lounge, The Bridge, located in Hong Kong International Airport, has reopened to passengers this month following an upgrade. The lounge sits conveniently near Gate 35 in Terminal 1, and is the first of Cathay Pacific’s lounges to undergo major renovations. Both departing passengers and those in Hong Kong on a layover can take advantage of the impressive new features, provided they’re travelling in First or Business Class.
Every detail has been considered at The Bridge, retaining familiar aspects while introducing innovative design and amenities. General Manager Customer Experience Design Guillaume Vivet said: “From the furniture and dining to the scent and music, every detail has been carefully considered to enhance comfort and contribute to a relaxed, refined atmosphere”.
The Bridge currently has a welcome reception for incoming guests, but this will soon be elevated further, as it becomes the first Cathay Pacific lounge to also feature a biometric check-in system. Inside, guests can unwind at relaxation spaces or reconnect after a flight in quiet, WiFi connected working spots.
The left hand side of The Bridge offers dining focused on Chinese favourites and delicacies, including at Cathay Pacific’s iconic Noodle Bar and new on the scene, The Nook, which curates a selection of Chinese regional small plates and a custom dim sum cart, reminiscent of yum cha restaurants of old. The right of the lounge serves international cuisine for First Class and Diamond members, and also features the Food Hall, where a buffet of modern, global dishes are served all day. For those who prefer to enjoy their champagne with a side of plane spotting, The Bar has panoramic views over the runway and serves wines, cocktails and coffee.
The next lounges to close will be The Wing, First, which will reopen in 2026, and The Wing, Business, while work on The Deck is also currently still in progress. From May 21, while The Wing is out of action, first class passengers will be able to use The Deck in its place, and The Pier will remain open throughout. And travellers to or via Hong Kong can look forward to plenty more from Cathay Pacific soon, with a new flagship lounge launching in the next two years.
